For the newly created Best Cover Art category, Tyler, The Creator has become the first-ever winner. The award was presented for the outstanding visual design of his latest album, Chromakopia. This category draws long-overdue attention to the artistry of album packaging in an increasingly digital music era.

Introduced in 2025 for the 2026 Grammy Awards, Best Album Cover will stand as a new independent category created to recognize the creative vision and design excellence behind the year’s most compelling visual album presentations. This consideration and acknowledgment by the Recording Academy of album artwork is another way to celebrate a vital extension of musical storytelling.

Art directors Shaun Llewellyn and Luis “Panch” Perez, who collaborated on the cover’s concept and execution, will share in the accolade, as the award honors the full creative team behind the visuals.
