Nigeria’s Super Falcons kicked off their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign with a dominant 3-0 win over Tunisia on Sunday in Casablanca.
Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring just four minutes in, heading home a perfect cross from Rinsola Babajide. Babajide doubled the lead just before halftime with a solo effort, confirmed after a VAR review. She also assisted the first goal, capping off a standout first-half performance.

Substitute Chinwendu Ihezuo sealed the win in the 84th minute, finishing off a header from Ashleigh Plumptre. Tunisia had a penalty shout waved off after a VAR check and failed to register a goal for the fifth straight WAFCON match.
With the victory, Nigeria top Group B and next face Botswana on Thursday. Tunisia will take on Algeria.
