At the ongoing Homecoming Festival, Nike teamed up with Olaolu Slawn to transform a football pitch into a custom-designed playing surface. Unveiled on April 4, 2026, it served as the centerpiece for the festival’s signature football matches at the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Mini Stadium in Lagos Island.

This activation is directly tied to Nike’s upcoming ’26 Collab Kits collection for the Super Eagles, set for release on the SNKRS app this summer. While the actual jerseys remain under wraps, the pitch preview has already generated massive buzz as a bold glimpse of Slawn’s design language hitting the pitch.
Founded by Grace Ladoja, the Homecoming Festival ran from April 2–6, 2026, across multiple Lagos venues, presenting a multi-day cultural takeover blending music, fashion, art, and sport. Nike’s involvement elevated the football component, reimagining the traditional “homecoming” game with the Slawn-designed surface at the Sanwo-Olu Mini Stadium—an 8-a-side AstroTurf facility named after Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The event also hosted a tournament, played between Native, The Plug, Homecoming, Street Souk, WAF, and Patta
Nike’s activation, of course, included the main event: the exclusive Homecoming x Nike Air Max Plus release.
The festival continues through April 6, with the LIVE Show. In true Homecoming fashion, it continues to be a platform for cultural statements and creative highlights.
