Nigerian Fashion Shows Up Strong at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala

It was beautiful to see the representation of Nigerian designers at The Fifteen Percent Pledge Fundraising Gala — one of the most visible celebrations of Black excellence across fashion, beauty, and business. The Fifteen Percent Pledge, founded in 2019 to drive economic equity by pushing retailers to dedicate 15% of shelf space to Black-owned businesses, is an initiative that has helped redirect billions toward Black owned brands.

At the 2026 gala, held in Los Angeles during Black History Month celebrations, the red carpet once again doubled as a cultural statement. Beyond glamour, it became a moment of Black excellence where Nigerian fashion houses were firmly in focus.
