Jonathan Anderson Makes History as Dior’s First Sole Creative Director

French fashion house Dior has appointed Jonathan Anderson as its first-ever sole creative director overseeing menswear, womenswear, and haute couture. It’s the first time since Christian Dior himself that all creative arms of the house will be led by one designer.

At just 40 years old, Anderson now finds himself at the helm of one of fashion’s most prestigious maisons, cementing his status as one of the most influential designers of his generation. The announcement comes after his highly successful 11-year tenure at Loewe, where he redefined the brand into a global cultural force, credited with tripling its revenue and launching viral fashion moments from Rihanna’s Super Bowl look to the now-iconic JW Anderson x UNIQLO collections.

Earlier this year, Anderson stepped down from Loewe. By April, he was tapped to take over Dior’s menswear following the departure of Kim Jones. Now, less than two months later, Dior has placed its entire creative future in his hands.
