Over the past two weeks, a unique creative experiment has been unfolding at Nahous. Through In Residency, a monthly platform designed to give artists space to grow, experiment, and connect with audiences, resident artist UAX has been transforming Monday nights into an intimate hub for live music, collaboration, and discovery.\

UAX, an R&B and afrosoul artist from Lagos, first gained attention with his breakout single Lagos2Crazy. Over the first two weeks of the residency, audiences have seen him fully in his element moving effortlessly between intimate vocal moments, high-energy crowd interactions, and collaborations that highlight both his versatility and raw passion. Watching him perform, it’s clear that UAX is an artist people will gladly pay to see live, a performer whose talent is both undeniable and fun to discover.
A key element of the residency is how UAX shapes the stage each week. As the resident artist, he curates “special guests” who complement his performances and help set the mood for the evening. The stage has been graced by talented artists including Esoterica, Rukmani, Qudus, and a particularly intriguing discovery, Yadatoriam. This collaborative format not only elevates the audience experience but also positions In Residency as a launchpad for discovering emerging talent in Lagos.
Audiences don’t just witness polished performances; they experience the process of artistic growth artists experimenting, testing ideas, and refining their craft in real time. With consistent weekly performances, the residency gives artists the rare chance to develop stage presence, performance stamina, and audience rapport, while offering attendees a front-row seat to Lagos’ evolving music scene.

As the program grows, we hope it will continue to amplify emerging voices, nurture performance development, and strengthen Lagos’ live music ecosystem, creating a space where artists can experiment boldly and audiences can discover new talent week after week.
