The TOMA Tournament is an international grassroots football competition designed to spotlight emerging talent from underrepresented communities. The tournament brings together teams from different countries, giving young players access to a global stage that often feels out of reach, crucially fostering youth development, cultural exchange, and opportunity.
HOMECOMING™, a platform known for connecting Nigerian creativity to the global diaspora, expanded that mission into sport, stepping in as Nigeria’s cultural and sporting bridge. Assembling a team of eight girls from across the country to represent Nigeria at TOMA, the initiative was never just about football, but more importantly about creating a pathway for players who might never have imagined access to a global stage of that magnitude.

Some of the girls had never travelled before. But through the initiative, and with immense support from HOMECOMING™, they were placed against international opposition on foreign soil. The team didn’t just participate; they won the tournament.
In doing so, they redefined what representation can look like when culture, opportunity, and belief align.
