Gbogboade Serves Up ‘FLAVOUR’: A 3-Track Feast of Afrofusion & Soul

Nigerian-born, London-based artist Gbogboade has unveiled his new 3-track EP, FLAVOUR—a smooth, summer-ready project that effortlessly blends Afrobeats, jazz, and soul with candid storytelling. Released on July 4th, 2025, the EP captures the highs and lows of modern connection.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Burna Boy, Odunsi The Engine, and Ezra Collective, Gbogboade crafts a sound that’s nostalgic and fresh. His Nigerian roots shine through live trumpet licks, Pidgin-English wordplay, and rhythms made for movement, while his lyricism explores love, tension, and the quiet complexities of romance.

Track by Track:

  1. Let Me Cook – A bright, danceable track driven by crisp Afrobeats drums and live trumpet. It’s playful and confident, made to set the tone for the night. Whether it’s a party, a rooftop link up or just catching a vibe, this one is about knowing when to take the lead and letting the energy flow
  2. Back to Back – This track blends Afrofusion grooves with flirtatious energy inspired by my Nigerian background. The switch between English and Pidgin gives it character, while the bounce keeps it light on its feet. It’s for the moments where there’s chemistry, tension and you’re both still pretending to have the upper hand.
  3. Round and Round – A smooth, more reflective track that sits in that space after the night slows down. The live trumpet adds warmth over a laid-back groove while the lyrics sit with the reality of those situationships that never seem to fully end. It’s honest, a little vulnerable, but still carries that easy, late-night energy.

FLAVOUR is a project that feels like a warm night out—full of possibility, rhythm, and the kind of conversations that linger. For fans of genre-blurring soul and Afro-inflected beats, this EP is your summer soundtrack.
