Emeka is shining
If there’s one artist who can be described as unique, unconventional, it’s Blaqbonez. A rapper who emerged at a time when Afrobeat artists were gaining a much broader audience and were often considered the preferred choice, Blaqbonez brought with him a resolute determination to change the game. In many ways, he has succeeded.
His music is an artful fusion of wittily structured rap with raw lyrics that challenge the listener to think and punchlines that make you exclaim, “Whoa! That’s hard!” Coupled with melodic choruses that accomplish what choruses should do: linger in the mind long after the song has ended. It’s no wonder that Emeka is shining brightly where others merely flickered and sputtered out. With his ability to continuously evolve his sound and his creativity that permeates every aspect of his career, he certainly must.
Blaqbonez boasts a total of 9 EPs under his belt, with the most recent one released in 2019. Prior to today, he released 2 studio albums: “Sex Over Love” in 2021 and “Young Preacher” in 2022, both of which were phenomenal, chart-topping projects that wasted no time in climbing to the top upon release.
Today, Blaqbonez has done it again, as he releases his 3rd studio album, which he has distinctively named “Emeka Must Shine.” This project features a multitude of musical talent, including Black Sherif, Zlatan, Victony, and even Ludacris, to name a few. The project promises to be euphonic and pleasing to the ears in every way, so go ahead and treat your ears.
