With a voice soaked in soul and a vision rooted in emotional truth, rising artist Dreycee makes her long-awaited debut with “Time / Miami”, a genre-fusing 2-pack that introduces her as a fearless new voice in Afro-fusion. Released via Skēme, the project blends introspection and energy, depth and dance — an intentional duality that reflects both who she is and what she stands for.
On “Time”, Dreycee invites listeners into her inner world — a space of stillness, reflection, and emotional clarity. The track, produced by Dummex (known for work with Magixx, LADIPOE, and Monaky), touches on the need to prioritize mental health, break away from toxic cycles, and protect one’s peace. A teaser clip of “Time” posted to Instagram Reels and TikTok quickly took off, racking up over 250,000 organic views and catching the attention of legendary producer Timbaland, who called Dreycee a “great artist” during a live TikTok session
“‘Time’ is personal,” says Dreycee. “It’s about learning to say no to chaos and yes to clarity. A lot of young people, especially in Africa, are dealing with pressure and burnout but don’t feel safe talking about it. I want my music to help shift that. Guarding your peace is strength.”
In contrast, “Miami” is a vibrant, flirtatious ode to freedom, joy, and romantic escape — produced by OG Sterling (Zlatan, LAX, DJ Neptune). Built on a bounce-heavy fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano, it invites listeners to dance, let go, and live in the moment. Together, the two songs show the full spectrum of Dreycee’s artistry: soft yet confident, grounded yet experimental.
With her roots in Lagos and a sound that stretches far beyond, Dreycee is part of a new wave of African artists redefining pop music on their own terms.
