Do2dtun Exits Radio After 20 Years of Broadcasting Excellence

Renowned Nigerian on-air personality and hypeman, Do2dtun, has officially announced his departure from radio after a remarkable 20-year career.

Do2dtun started his journey at Cool FM on November 1, 2004, as an intern—”dusty, unprepared, and knowing absolutely nothing about radio,” as he described it in an emotional Instagram post. Under the mentorship of industry icons like the late Dan Foster, Freeze, Mannie Essien, and Olisa Adibua, he rose through the ranks to become one of the most iconic voices on Nigerian radio.

Beyond being an on-air personality, Do2dtun expanded his brand as a hypeman, emcee, and advocate for youth culture. His ability to connect with the younger generation, promote Afrobeat music, and spotlight emerging talent helped shape the entertainment landscape.

In his statement on his social media platforms, Although Do2dtun didn’t reveal specific details about his next steps, he hinted at an upcoming book titled “Do Not Believe the Hype,” which will delve deeper into his experiences in the entertainment industry.

“I interviewed the best of the best, the hopeful, the hopeless, the least considered, the next on the block, and the believers. God gave me this platform to put everyone on—and I mean everyone you see now,” he said.

Do2dtun’s departure marks the end of an era for Nigerian radio, but his impact will continue to resonate across the entertainment industry. Fans and colleagues have poured in tributes, celebrating his contributions and wishing him success in the next phase of his career.

“20 years on radio, it’s time to say goodbye […] it’s time to leave what I loved and will always love,” — Do2dtun.
