Dembélé and Bonmatí Crowned 2025 Ballon d’Or Winners in Paris

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí were named the world’s best players at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.

Dembélé, 28, claimed his first Ballon d’Or after inspiring PSG to a historic treble, including their maiden UEFA Champions League title.

The Frenchman ended the 2024/25 season with 37 goals and 15 assists, earning the Champions League Player of the Season award. He finished ahead of Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal, who took second place and also won the Kopa Trophy for best young player. PSG’s Vitinha completed the men’s top three.

Bonmatí made history by becoming the first woman to win three consecutive Ballon d’Ors, matching the legendary streaks of Lionel Messi and Michel Platini. The Spain and Barcelona star dedicated her award to “collective work,” citing her inspirations Andrés Iniesta and Xavi. Mariona Caldentey finished second, and England striker Alessia Russo completed the top three.

Other award highlights included:

  • Luis Enrique (PSG) – Johan Cruyff Trophy for best men’s coach
  • Sarina Wiegman (England) – Best women’s coach
  • Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG, now Man City) – Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper
  • Hannah Hampton (Chelsea/England) – inaugural women’s goalkeeper award
  • Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting/Sweden, now Arsenal) – Gerd Müller Trophy for 63 goals
  • Ewa Pajor (Barcelona/Poland) – Women’s Gerd Müller Trophy with 48 goals

PSG and Arsenal were named men’s and women’s Clubs of the Year, respectively, after their Champions League triumphs.
