Ashluxe Officially Launches in the UK

After three years of building momentum through sold-out pop-ups and a loyal international following, Nigerian luxury streetwear brand Ashluxe has officially launched in the United Kingdom.

At the top of the food chain when it comes to blending African luxury with streetwear edge sits Ashluxe—and its official entry into the UK market marks a defining milestone in its global journey. The brand, founded by creative director Yinka Ash, has quickly grown from a niche Lagos-based label into a cult favorite among musicians, and cultural tastemakers across the world.

Since its establishment in 2019, Ashluxe has held three major pop-ups in London, with one drawing over 2,000 shoppers in just three days—a strong indicator of the brand’s growing influence in the UK fashion scene, and perhaps a sign of its broader global ambitions. Most importantly, it continues to represent Africa while doing so.

Ashluxe’s UK debut will be led by its Pre-Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, inspired by a “Lagos to Rio” narrative—a cultural cross-pollination that celebrates the rich historical and creative ties between Nigeria and Brazil. This connection, rooted in shared Afro-Brazilian heritage, speaks to Ashluxe’s ongoing mission: to amplify African identity through design, and storytelling.

But this mission didn’t start here. In 2024, Ashluxe collaborated with the estate of the legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti on the “Kalakuta Republic” collection, honoring the icon’s legacy through fashion and film. Through this collaboration, Ashluxe became the first African brand to license Fela’s images, demonstrating a commitment to honoring African icons and narratives. The collection and the accompanying documentary, The Spirit of Fela, not only celebrated Fela’s cultural contributions but also positioned Ashluxe as a brand dedicated to preserving and promoting African culture on a global stage.

“There’s something powerful about seeing your vision come to life on the streets,” Ashluxe stated. “Walking down Regent Street and spotting people in our tank tops and bomber jackets—it made it clear: London loves Ashluxe.”

From its signature graphic pieces to elevated sportswear silhouettes, Ashluxe has carved a lane at the intersection of luxury, identity, and cultural pride. Its UK launch is not just a retail expansion, but a statement of intent—Africa’s fashion voices are redefining the global conversation.

As the brand continues to blur borders and celebrate diasporic identity, Ashluxe’s London chapter represents more than just growth—it’s a merging of influence, energy, and purpose.
