Fashion is taking on a new role beyond style in Nigeria’s capital, as the upcoming AfriCulture Fashion Show & Awards leverages creative culture as a platform for social dialogue and policy influence. Scheduled for March 13, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, the event is being reframed as a purposeful intervention into pressing societal issues, notably the empowerment and development of the African boy child
Organised by Global Awareness for Development Initiatives, this year’s edition carries the theme “Empowering the African Boy Child Towards a Balanced Future”. The event will feature designers and models from across Africa. Political and cultural leaders, including the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa, will attend.
The evening will also include the AfriCulture Awards, celebrating individuals and organisations making a measurable impact in fashion, youth advocacy, and cultural preservation. More than a fashion show, the event will be a movement to position Abuja at the forefront of creativity, culture, and social change.
