FRDND – DRUMROLLS EP
FRDND drops DRUMROLLS EP on the 1st of March, 2024, six months after the release of his critically acclaimed debut single Orente. The thrust of DRUMROLLS EP is an ambition to reposition the Afrobeats music industry to a more detailed core of Indigenous sonic composition, R&B, Street Pop, Bounce, Hip Hop and a fusion of emerging genres.
DRUMROLLS EP is Afrobeats testament to its acceptance of FRDND’S role in shaping sounds for the evolution of the sonic scape. The 19 year old, 200 level University student shows an incredible mastery of the elements of music making in Nigerian context for a global audience. His use of melodies to weave tales, lyrics to detail stories and groove to help the audience enjoy his creativity sets him apart from what is on offering today.
His influences in music may explain why his sound is just as exciting as it is unique; it is a blend of Burna Boy, Post Malone, Tyler the Creator, Asake, Dave, Wizkid, Buju and Victony. His inspiration from a wide array of genres including Hip Hop, indigenous African music, R&B, Dancehall, EDM, Pop amongst other styles of music making.
