Rema storms out with ‘Ravage’
Rema, a Nigerian rapper, vocalist, and lyricist, gained respect with the release of “Dumebi” in 2019. He won the All African Music Awards for Artist of the Year and the Crossing Boundaries with Music Award. In the recent Trace Awards, he won Best Global African Artiste and Song of the Year with the “Calm Down” remix featuring Selena Gomez.
Rema has now released a captivating track called “Ravage” after his “Rave and Roses” Ultra Album. The EP opens with a sweet tune and a charming beat in “Trouble Maker,” where Rema’s rebellious nature shines through with the line “Omo werey me I no dey talk but try me first.” He expresses how he has persevered to reach where he is, as all the struggles he has faced have been for the sake of wealth.
Divine takes the dance floor with a sizzling track called “DND,” filled with flows that will immerse you and transport you to another realm. The song is a true representation of the EP titled “Ravage.” “DND” is pleasing to the ears and a challenge to the mind.
“Smooth Criminal” is expertly crafted to captivate your senses. The “Calm Down” crooner utilizes his vocals to create a masterpiece with his unique voice and captivating lyrics. “Smooth Criminal” showcases Rema’s talent in Afro-rave and his knack for creating global hits. “Don’t Leave” is equally enthralling and fast-paced.
The EP concludes with “Red Potion,” a track supernaturally produced by the marvelous LNDN. Rema sings, “Gunshot from bum short, yeah (Killy me, ahh), Girl, your waist put me in a headlock, yeah.” The girl in the song has enchanted him with her allure, and he desires her love but doesn’t want to be tied down to one girl. However, the girl wants him all to herself.
The EP is a fantastic piece of work, and Rema continues to be a successful artist who blesses his fans with captivating songs and hit tracks that set the stage on fire wherever they are played.
