Nearly a decade after their paths first crossed at YBNL Nation, Adekunle Gold and Olamide have finally made the music fans have been waiting for. The duo joined forces on “Formation,” a Fuji-inspired Afrobeats track.

The release marks a historic full-circle moment for both artists. While Adekunle Gold’s career was launched under Olamide’s YBNL Nation imprint in 2015, the two had never appeared on a song together.
The record sits within what Adekunle Gold is calling “Electro Fuji” — a blend of Fuji’s traditional rhythmic structures with the textures and energy of contemporary Afrobeats. The track taps into its long history of adaptation, drawing from different styles and reworking them into something fluid and modern while staying firmly connected to its roots.
