Just another Lagos Fashion Week got wrapped up again with a Spectacular display of creativity, cultural pride, and revolutionary design. The runway was a celebration of tradition and modernity, where designers helped build a narrative and idea for the future. Here’s a look at some of the standout moments that defined Lagos Fashion Week 2024 from Oct 24 – Oct 27:

E.S.O by Liman

E.S.O by Liman’s SS25 collection, ‘NORTH, WEST & EAST,’ fused traditional Nigerian aesthetics with contemporary art. Featuring lace on male models, dyed gowns, and feathered two-piece silhouettes in vibrant colors, the collection showcased Nigeria’s cultural diversity while embracing modern innovation.

Emmy Kasbit

Emmy Kasbit stayed true to his trademark craftsmanship with his SS25 collection, RECOLLECTION, which dazzled the audience with vibrant colors, signature motifs, and stunning embroidery. There reflected a deep connection to cultural heritage, with each piece showcasing careful detailing and masterful weaving techniques.

Hertunba

Dorathy Bachor’s runway appearance for Hertunba was a head-turner, but the real spotlight belonged to the SS25 collection ‘THE WOMEN BEFORE US.’ This collection celebrated the strength, grace, and timeless beauty of women, with flowing fabrics and intricate details that reflected the essence of femininity. Hertunba’s designs spoke to the modern woman, offering a sense of empowerment that elevated the entire showcase.

Y’ W A N D E L A G

The Y’Wandelag collection at Lagos Fashion Week 2024 features intricate patterns with bold, earthy tones. The pieces showcase exaggerated layers, voluminous fabrics, and an emphasis on movement which highlights a daring, forward-thinking approach to fashion.

Orange Culture x Minz

Minz brought his energy to the runway for SS25 Orange Culture’s much-anticipated collaboration with Heineken. 

I A M I S I G O

Taking place offsite, I A M I S I G O’s SS25 collection brought a refreshing take on minimalism and deconstruction, drawing inspiration from post-colonial Africa.

Davido x Ugo Monye

Afrobeats superstar Davido graced Ugo Monye’s runway in an intricately embroidered agbada, Coming as traditional Nigerian menswear with modern design sensibilities. Monye’s SS25 collection was a showcase of luxury and culture.

Tacha x Lush Hairs

Tacha was at Lagos Fashion Week 2024 with a stunning and artistic showcase for Lush Hairs, where innovative hairpieces took center stage. 

Oshobor

Oshobor’s SS25 collection was a vivid celebration of Edo-Benin heritage, with silhouettes that reflected the essence of the designer’s roots. The deep connection to cultural identity made it both a visual feast and a proud homage to tradition.
